BAT’s portfolio comprises combustible tobacco products alongside a range of non-combustible products.

Combustibles are traditional tobacco products, such as cigarettes. The Group’s well-known strategic combustibles brands include Dunhill, Rothmans, Lucky Strike, Kent, Pall Mall, Newport, Camel and Natural American Spirit.​

The Group’s purpose is to build A Better Tomorrow by reducing the health impact of its business through offering a greater choice of enjoyable and less risky products for its consumers.​

It’s widely viewed that the harm associated with smoking combustible tobacco products arises not from nicotine but from other components of the smoke produced when tobacco is burned.​

While cigarettes will be at the core of its business for some time to come, the Group’s ambition is to increasingly transition revenues from cigarettes to non-combustible products over time.​

BAT’s range of potentially reduced-risk non-combustible products include BAT’s New Categories:​

  • Vapour products are battery-powered devices that heat e-liquids to create a vapour which is inhaled. The Group’s vapour brands include Vype and Vuse*.​
  • Tobacco heating products (THPs) heat rather than burn tobacco to generate a nicotine-containing aerosol, with a tobacco taste, which the user inhales. BAT’s THPs are available under its glo brand.​
  • Modern oral products are white in colour and contain high-purity nicotine, water and other high-quality food-grade ingredients, flavouring and sweeteners. BAT’s global modern oral brand is Velo.​

The Group’s non-combustible range of potentially reduced-risk products also includes traditional oral products, such as Swedish-style snus and American moist snuff.​
